The most awaited, vivid and colorful Quang Ninh Tourism Week 2012 will be held from April 24 to May 2.
The 2012 Ha Long Tourism Week in Vietnam will cover a variety of activities other than just tourism related programs to familiarize tourists with Vietnamese art and culture. In just a week, they will get a chance to experience the real essence of Vietnam through art performances, food festival, national dance championship, Tuan Chau International women’s beach volleyball championship and other contests and programs reflecting the traditional Vietnamese customs in a modern style.
With the aim to make the tourism week a remarkable event for connoisseurs of art and culture, two exhibitions are also being held during the week. The first is photography exhibition while the second exhibits relics and antiques displaying the age-old history of Ha Long Bay.
May 01 is going to be golden day in the history of Vietnam. It is the day when the Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee will officially announce Ha Long Bay as one of the seven natural wonders of world in a ceremony at Bai Chay.

It’s not the cliffs themselves that make Ha Long Bay unique, but rather their sheer number. A huge bay, dotted with nearly 2,000 mostly uninhabited limestone cliffs, the breathtaking scenery is very similar to that of the Andaman coast of Thailand, Vang Vieng in Laos and Guilin in China.
